Windows Support Engineer - Top 5 Global Hosting Company
Southampton, Hampshire
£30,000 -£35,000 Negotiable
We are a worldwide hosting company running 20,000+ servers for our 10,000+ clients.
Due to our continued growth we are currently recruiting a Windows Support Engineer.
Windows Support Engineer Job Function:
* You will be troubleshooting, installing, maintaining and supporting a wide range of MS Windows.
* You will have a ‘Hands on’ problem solving approach; solving problems within strict SLA time frames.
* You will work with your team mates to provide award winning First Call SupportTM to all of our clients.
* Performs on-call duties as required.
If you can tick the boxes below, we really ought to talk…
* MCP, MCSE, or comparable certification
* IT educated
* You will have significant experience with MS Windows, as well as knowledge of DNS, firewalls, VPN, IIS, FTP, telnet, general security issues, email troubleshooting (SMTP, POP, IMAP), antivirus and backup software
* Good knowledge of using a call logging system
* Ability to write scripts in some administrative language ( vbscript, ASP.NET, etc.).
* You have a solid understanding of Intel-based server hardware, including RAID configuration.
* You should also have excellent problem solving ability, be a quick learner and enjoy a challenge
* 'Hands on' experience in this type of role is an ideal - you must have a friendly aptitude, enjoy multitasking... and most importantly like people and problem solving!
You may have worked in the following capacities:
Data Centre Windows Engineer, Windows IT Support Engineer,
Windows Support Analyst.
