Job Description
Contract Support Officer - Procurement - Public Sector
We are seeking a Contract Support Officer for a long term contract with our public sector client.
Experience and achievements
* Significant experience of contracting or procurement in a care environment, particularly care management with vulnerable adults
* Experience of issues relating to Social Care Market, particularly services provided by private and voluntary sectors
* Records of achievement in sourcing and purchasing appropriate and cost effective care provision
* Good track record of innovation and service development
* Leadership of or substantial contribution to projects within a multi-disciplinary setting with successful completion of objectives, preparation and presentation of written reports.
* Good working knowledge of appropriate legislation
* Knowledge of Adult Services strategies, specifically the (Care group/Departmental Strategy eg Valuing People Agenda)
* Working knowledge of the NHS and Community Care Act
Skills/Competencies
* Ability to prepare, analyse and compare costs and benefits, using Departmental procurement tools
* Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and effectively both orally and in writing with people through the organisation and externally
* Ability to demonstrate highly effective negotiation skills
* Provide leadership and achieve desired results through sensitivity, influence and diplomacy.
* Ability to manage change and conflict.
* Ability to analyse and organise complex information and discuss or present these (verbally or in writing) in a clear and well argued manner
* Ability to write clear and reasoned reports and present them effectively
* Ability to use IT, especially SWIFT, SAP, spreadsheets and databases
* Prioritise objectives and tasks, organise workloads within the time available.
* Determine types of personal activity which are most effective in achieving results
* Ability to demonstrate decision making, problem solving and innovation skills
