To design modifications to aircraft electrical and avionic systems. Lead a team of designers, or work independently, to identify solutions to meet customer requirements.
Delivery of design solutions in line with project requirements.
Maintenance of records in accordance with local procedures (ISO 9100).
Understand the customer requirement.
Electrical design point of contact for projects.
Bid support.
Develop design solutions.
Produce wiring diagrams using ELCAD design tool for manufacture/installation/maintenance.
Preparation of electrical load analyses.
Conduct aircraft surveys.
Leading the team at Design Reviews and meetings.
Ensure tasks are completed to timescale and budget.
Training and mentoring junior staff.
Essential Skills
Aerospace experience is essential as is technical experience across a range of platforms.
Experience of managing a team is desirable.
Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship, or Military equivalent, with ONC/HNC in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
Degree/HND in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experienced user of CAD tools and design techniques.
An in depth understanding of cable harness construction and installation.
An in depth understanding of electrical system components eg types of connector, backshells, cables etc.
Successful applicants will be required to obtain UK MOD security clearance prior to appointment.
